    Couples counseling (50 minutes): $185

  • I currently only accept United/Optum insurance plans.

I do not accept insurance for couples therapy. Most insurance companies will not cover couples counseling.

  • Finding the best therapist for you needs can feel overwhelming but let me break down some things to look for.

You want someone qualified & licensed. You can search a therapist’s credentials via Colorado’s licensing agency. Not everyone has the same qualifications. I’m an LCSW which means I had to complete a Master’s degree and 3,000 + hours of practice before I could become licensed.

You want someone with a therapy style that works for you. Every therapist has a style they lean into. I am direct (maybe more direct than other therapists) so you can achieve the results you want and not get stuck in patterns. I am also compassionate and use humor often as part of this work.

You want someone who has experience in your area of need. I specialize in couples/relational work. I have advanced training in couples modalities including the Gottman Method and I’m also trained in Relational Life Therapy (RLT).

    1. Protecting your privacy. When using insurance, they have access to your diagnosis and treatment notes so it is not entirely confidential. When paying out of pocket, your information is truly confidential and not shared with anyone.

    2. No diagnosis required. With out of pocket services, I am not required to provide a diagnosis and it does not become part of your permanent health record.

    3. Therapist and time are your decision. Insurance often only covers a certain number of sessions or even certain therapists. With out of pocket services, you are in control of who you see and how often or for how long.

    4. Quality care. I can’t speak for anyone but myself, but working with insurance often causes burnout. Offering out of pocket services allows me to provide the best and most quality care for all my clients.

  • I completely understand. Therapy is an investment. Something to consider is the average cost of divorce in the U.S. is between $10,000-$20,000 and therapy is a lot cheaper than that!
